GREEN BIO
NEWSPAPER
News to save the earth
  • Green Bio signed a contract with PS POLY PACK, a Malaysian company, to supply raw materials for 5 billion biodegradable product
    2022.10.19
Green Bio signed a contract with PS POLY PACK, a Malaysian company, to supply raw materials for 5 billion biodegradable product
Supply of plastic biodegradable product production technology and machinery for finished packaging materials Green Bio Co., Ltd. (CEO Han Sang-hoon), an eco-friendly biodegradable resin manufacturer, supplied raw materials for biodegradable products that replace existing plastics with PS Polypack (CEO MOHD ZAIN), a subsidiary of PS Group in Malaysia. In addition, it was announced on the 18th that it had signed a comprehensive contract to transfer machinery and technology to make finished packaging materials using this raw material. This was promoted based on the business agreement signed between the two companies on August 3, and the two companies signed the contract at the green bio plant in Hampyeong, Jeollanam-do, with MOHAMAD REDUAN MOHD ZABRI, director of the Malaysian Investment Authority (MIDA) participating. Green Bio expects that the first shipment will start from December this year, and through this, annual sales of 5 billion won (900 tons of raw material supply per year) will occur. Established in 2010, PS Polypack is a Malaysian company that manufactures various packaging materials including world-class products such as HP, Starbucks, and Nescafe, and is known as a medium-sized company with annual sales of KRW 100 billion. PS Polypack, which aims to make high-quality products through natural materials, produces flexible packaging, polyethylene film and bags. Related products include roll-type biodegradable packaging bags, beverage packs, and product packaging, security bags, fruit packs, industrial packs, etc. And not only food, but also customers from various industries are formed. Green Bio is a company that produces biodegradable resin products such as films such as shopping bags and mulching films and containers such as cups, cutlery and lunch boxes through its own biodegradable compounding raw material, ‘G-Nature’. It is a ‘baby unicorn’ company selected in 2021 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Common biodegradable products are difficult to process because they are vulnerable to heat and moisture, have low tensile strength and are difficult to use alone, and have been shunned by companies due to their high production cost. GreenBio developed two innovative raw materials (G-Nature, G-Plus) using its own original technology. Various biodegradable products made using this material are all biodegradable within 3 to 6 months and are evaluated to have perfectly compensated for the shortcomings of existing products. In addition, it plans to enter two biodegradable product production plants in Selangor and Malacca, Malaysia, and will also export equipment worth $20 million and supply raw materials exclusively for 10 years. “The biodegradable plastic market is about $3.6 billion as of 2020 and continues to grow,” said Sanghoon Han, CEO of GreenBio. And “Based on this contract with PS Group in Malaysia, we will become a company that best fits the ESG management and eco-friendly trend in the future,” he said. In the future, GreenBio plans to focus on the business of replacing existing plastics with biodegradable products, which are the biggest cause of environmental pollution worldwide, by supplying its own biodegradable resin raw materials to existing plastic producers at home and abroad, just like this contract with PS Polypack. Han Sang-hoon, CEO of Green Bio Co., Ltd. (right in front row), an eco-friendly biodegradable resin manufacturer, and CEO of PS Polypack Mode Zain, a subsidiary of PS Group in Malaysia (left in front row, MOHD ZAIN), supply raw materials for biodegradable products that replace existing plastics. A comprehensive contract is being signed to transfer the machinery and technology used to make finished packaging materials. [Go to the article] https://www.ikld.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=262861

MOU for development of biodegradable and eco-friendly containers “Continue ESG management” with Cosmeca Korea
Join hands with Green Bio Co., Ltd. to supply biodegradable resin containers Lee Yong-hwan, vice president of GreenBio (left), and Kim Ki-hyun, vice president of Cosmecca Korea, are taking a commemorative photo at the MOU signing ceremony at the Cosmecca Korea CIR Center in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do on the 22nd. / Provided by Cosmeca Korea Cosmeca Korea and GreenBio announced on the 23rd that they will join hands to develop biodegradable eco-friendly containers On the 22nd, the two companies held an MOU signing ceremony at the Cosmecca Korea CIR Center in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi-do, attended by officials from each company, including Cosmecca Korea Vice President Kim Ki-hyeon and GreenBio Vice President Lee Yong-hwan. The main goal of the agreement is to incorporate Green Bio's biodegradable resin 'G-Nature' raw material into Cosmeca Korea's cosmetic container development know-how. Green Bio's biodegradable resin 'G-Nature' compensates for the weak durability and low heat resistance of existing biodegradable products. As a result, EL724 certification (eco-label certification given to resins that decompose more than 90% within 180 days in 58°C high-temperature soil after landfill) was obtained. Cosmecca Korea is proposing sustainable cosmetic containers to customers around the world as part of ESG management. Cosmecca Korea plans to actively develop a package suitable for biodegradable resin containers and use them as containers for new products. Cosmecca Korea expects that the two companies will contribute to building an eco-friendly ecosystem in the cosmetics industry through this business agreement. Cosmeca Korea Vice President Kim Ki-hyun said, “We will actively participate in the plastic-free movement to solve the plastic pollution problem, which is an international environmental issue.” "he said. Meanwhile, Cosmecca Korea has developed 50 sustainable packaging materials so far. It also participates in global exhibitions such as 'MakeUp in Paris' and 'Cosmoprof Las Vegas' to introduce eco-friendly packaging materials, and continues to carry out ESG management activities. Green bio, establishment of green growth infrastructure and production facilities
Green Bio, a biodegradable plastics company, announced on the 17th that it will reorganize its domestic infrastructure and production settings for green growth. In 2023, Greenbio plans to shift its second plant film manufacturing to an OEM method. In 2024, it plans to build new production facilities in the metropolitan area and Chungcheong area, which have transportation advantages. By the second quarter of this year, the facilities and personnel of the Hampyeong plant will be adjusted to overhaul the mass production system. By the fourth quarter, it will have a mass production system that can be produced and delivered locally in Jeju. In recognition of developing a 'biodegradable compound' that is resistant to heat and moisture, Green Bio was selected for the 'Baby Unicorn 200 Cultivation Project' by the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Ventures last year. Recently, the Malaysian government has also invested in eco-friendly raw materials. It signed a contract with Green Bio worth 3 trillion won. Han Sang-hoon, CEO of Green Bio, said, "We hope to positively impact the virtuous cycle structure on the environment through eco-friendly plastics," adding, "Since the need for green growth is being revived, Green Bio also plans to make active efforts."
